Fly Fishing Workshops New

SATURDAY, APRIL 14: Introduction to Fly Fishing: 8-10 am. ($30 Members; $45 General Public)
Class will include an introduction to trout and other fish species and their common habitat, rivers and lakes. Where fish can be found and what they eat. Equipment needed and what to use for which target species. Introduction to basic fly casting.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18: Michigan/Wisconsin Fly Fishing: 5-7 pm ($30 Members; $45 General Public)
Class will focus on the different bodies of water around the Michigan/Wisconsin area. We will discuss the differing rules and regulations, season dates, and license fees. We will also discuss different types of streams; Trout streams vs normal rivers. Basic fly casting.
SATURDAY, APRIL 21: Tying flies: 8-11 am ($55 Members; $75 General Public)
Greg Rogers from Appleton Wi will be joining us and teaching a fly tying class and how to create the illusion of bait. Class will also include fly hatches and why you need to use them and the anatomy of fish. Intermediate and basic fly casting. *Each participant will receive one(1) fly tying kit, spaces are limited*
THURSDAY, APRIL 26: Advanced Fishing Skills: 5-7 pm ($30 Members; $45 General Public)
Class will include elements of advanced fishing skills including spawn bags vs flies, wet vs dry flies, spin casting vs fly casting, and what other fish there are to fish. Casting will take place in the pool. Bring waders if you have them

NOTES: Register for all 4 classes and only pay: $120 Members; $180 General Public. Practice equipment will be provided at each class for the casting portion of the class. You are able to bring your own equipment to use during the class.

Kids Night Out

Youth participants will enjoy a Gym & Swim at the YMCA, while parents enjoy a night out! Please bring your bathing suit & towel. Pre-registration is required.

Schools Out Fun Day

Youth participants will enjoy a day at the Y. Youth will enjoy group games, crafts, outdoor activities, and swimming in our area’s largest pool. Please bring outdoor clothing, bathing suit, towel, lunch & afternoon snack. Pre-registration is required.

AGES: 5-12 years
DAYS: Friday, May 4
TIMES: 9 am – 4 pm
COST PER SESSION: $24 Members; $30 General Public
Before Care (7:30-9 am) and After Care (4-5:15 pm) available for additional charge. If before and/or after care is needed, please call 774-4076 to register.


Babysitting – Safe Sitter Babysitting Course

We provide you with Safe Sitter curriculum that is appropriate for the intellectual and emotional abilities of adolescents (must be 11). Our curriculum is based on up-to-date information and injury prevention for specific age groups. We emphasize to adolescents the profound responsibility of nurturing and protecting children. Pre-registration is required.

Youth Soccer

A great class to learn the fundamentals of soccer. Participants will learn about passing, dribbling, and making shots on goal. Will also be taught positions such as keeper, forward, and defender. Class will be held at Crystal Lake Soccer Field.

TIMES: 3:45-4:30 pm

Soccer – Pee Wee (Ages 3-5)

Introductory Pee Wee soccer class teaching the fundamentals of soccer. Participants will have fun playing games while they gain knowledge and learn skills in running, kicking and shooting.

Triathlon Training

Is it your first Triathlon? Are you a seasoned Veteran?  Our experienced coaches will help you reach your goals and offer plenty of support. Everyone welcome!

Price includes four days a week training for three months April thru June.

If swimming is not your thing, train for the DUATHLON that will consist of a run, bike, run.

Youth Fitness Center Orientation Free for Members

AGES: 12-15.  To use the fitness center, all youth ages 12-15 are required to attend this class.  Parent must be present.

WHEN: Tuesdays at 5:30 or 6:30 PM or by appointment.
