A STORY OF SUCCESS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Since opening its doors to the community in 1990 our Northern Lights YMCA Delta Center has experienced tremendous growth in programming and membership. From initial swim offerings in backyard pools and programming in local parks, our YMCA today boasts a growing membership base of more than 3,600 people, accounting for more than 9,600 visits each month. More than 50 youth, aquatic and fitness programming opportunities are available to members and the general public. The Y annually provides more than $100,000 in membership and programming assistance to the greater Delta community.
OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT
The Northern Lights YMCA Pool serves thousands of youth, families, seniors and those with special needs. It also serves local employers with wellness programs, making our Community a better place to live for everyone. Since opening our doors in 1990:
- More than 14,000 Kids have Learned to Swim.
- More than 1,200 have become Area Lifeguards.
- More than 1,000 have trained for Water Rescue and Recovery.
- More than 550 Special Needs Individuals have Learned to Swim and Build Vital Life Skills.
- More than 2,500 of People Injured or Suffering from Chronic Disease have had their Lives Improved through Water Therapy.

DIVE INTO OUR FUTURE
Our capital project will fund the construction of a new community pool connected directly to our YMCA — bringing all of our facilities together under one roof. This integration will create significant operational efficiencies while dramatically improving the experience for members and the broader community.
The new aquatic center is designed to deliver:
IMPROVED Accessibility – Universal access features will ensure individuals of all abilities can safely and confidently enjoy the pool.
IMPROVED Family Experience – Thoughtfully designed spaces will better serve families with children of all ages, making the pool welcoming, functional, and easy to navigate.
IMPROVED Aquatic Safety & Lifeguard Training – Enhanced facilities will strengthen our role as a regional leader in swim lessons, water safety education, and lifeguard certification, helping keep our communities safe.
IMPROVED Competitive Swim Facilities – Upgraded space for our YMCA and local high school swim teams, serving more than 500 swimmers annually.
REDUCED Operating & Maintenance Costs – Modern, energy -efficient systems and advanced water treatment technology will significantly reduce sanitization costs and ongoing expenses.
“A new pool is not just a facility upgrade. It is a public safety investment, a health resource, an economic driver, and a leadership incubator for our next generation.“
