Fourth Annual Corks & Forks Expected to Sellout
IRON MOUNTAIN – Tickets for the Fourth Annual Corks & Forks are now available and going fast.
Slated for Thursday, September 21, at Pine Grove Country Club, the Northern Lights YMCA – Dickinson Center’s largest fundraising event directly supports the Annual Campaign. Corks & Forks has grown in popularity each year and expected to be at capacity again.
“First and foremost we are thankful for our event partners, 41 Lumber, Bacco Construction and Bink’s Wine,” Center Director Jonathan Ringel said. “We are also in debt to our hosts at Pine Grove as well as all the community participants who help keep this event a success through prize donations and volunteer efforts.”
The evening, which begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., will feature hors d’oeuvres, exquisite wines, music, cash bar and prizes – including a specially-designed piece from Erickson Jewelers. Proceeds from the event support the YMCA’s Annual Fund which provides financial assistance for membership and helps subsidize programming at the Dickinson Center.
So far in 2017, the YMCA has provided nearly $25,000 in direct financial assistance to local residents and by year’s end that number is expected to surpass $100,000 when program subsidies are taken into account.
“I think people can see the positive impact the YMCA is having in this community, and that’s why they’ve been so willing to step up and help support what we do,” Ringel said. “And this year, with us being on the cusp of some really big changes, there is a little extra buzz. People are truly excited about what’s potentially coming for the community, and they want to help make it happen.”
The YMCA will once again offer a Kids Night in conjunction with the wine tasting. Children ages 3-12 will enjoyed structured activities in the gym and pool.
“Corks & Forks is a great date night opportunity,” Ringel noted. “Parents are so busy with their kids activities all the time. Here’s a chance to let the YMCA take care of the kids while mom and dad enjoy an evening out.”
Tickets for the event are $45/person or $80 per couple and are available at the YMCA front desk or by phone at 906.774.4076.
