PRE-REGISTRATION DATE SET FOR CHILD CARE AT THE YMCA

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Systems Control Little Sparks Child Care Center is nearly complete, and Northern Lights YMCA officials will be holding a pre-registration event on Wednesday, April 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the YMCA.

“We’re just about ready to go, and we are very excited to offer full-time child care services to the community,” Little Sparks Child Care Center Director Sue Nelson said. “We are currently accepting registrations from our partner Systems Control. While we anticipate having additional slots open to the general public, we do not know yet how many spaces will be available.”

The preregistration is open to anyone. There is a $75 registration deposit, and the YMCA will accept cash or check only. Those not placed in the center will receive a full refund of the deposit and be added to a waiting list.

Little Sparks Child Care Center accepts children from six weeks to 5 years of age. The center will offer only full-time rates at this time. Full time enrollment covers daily attendance up to 10 consecutive hours each day, snacks and a meal. Children enrolled in the center receive a free YMCA youth membership. Full family YMCA membership is also available at a discounted rate.

Child care rates will be $170 per week and $195 in the infant room. More information regarding rates and fees will be available during the pre-registration event. No pre-registration will be accepted over the phone.

The pre-registration will be performed on a first-come, first-served basis, with those registering first receiving any available spaces in the center. No guarantees of placement will be made at the pre-registration. Families will be notified one way or the other after the event.

Tentative opening date for the child care center will be Monday, April 22.
