Little Sparks Child Care Center

Year Round Child Care

Monday-Friday, 6 am-6 p.m. at the YMCA Child Care Center.

Systems Control Little Sparks Child Care Center programming is geared to the individual needs of children. Our goal is to provide well-rounded experiences and enhance your child’s development through play and by introducing them to concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The essential component of our child care program is staff. Center staff are trained in growth and development and set age-appropriate expectations. By guiding and directing children with warmth, concern, acceptance, approval and respect, children develop a strong and positive concept of themselves and the world around them. A welcoming and responsive atmosphere is provided to foster a sense of trust and autonomy, as well as to encourage cooperation, communication and respect for others.

A one time enrollment fee of $75 will be required at time of first enrollment. Full-time enrollment covers daily attendance up to 10 hours each day. Children attending the center for more than 10 hours in a single day will be charged an hourly rate above the flat weekly rate. There will also be additional fees for late pick-ups. No refunds or credit will be issued for children who spend less time in the center. The weekly full-time rate is the minimum required to maintain enrollment in the center. Families will be allowed a vacation/sick time allotment in which payment is not required and the child’s spot is still reserved. Families with more than one child in care will receive a five percent discount for each additional child. See Parent Handbook for more information.

FINANCIAL AID: The YMCA is firmly committed to access for all, regardless of family financial situations. The amount of financial assistance awarded each year is dependent on the amount of fundraising and donations received each year through the YMCA Annual Campaign and other fundraising events. We ask the families to apply to Michigan Department of Health and Human Services at (231) 941-3900 or visit http://bit.ly/childcareassistance. If families do not qualify, a financial assistance application may be completed with a copy of the denial letter. YMCA scholarship forms must be fully completed with all information included. Allow a maximum of three weeks for processing. All fees apply as normal until the application has been reviewed and approved. All scholarships are subject to availability of funds.
